Karen Horne Manager, Environmental Health & Safety
Karen Horne has served as a Project Manager at Goldman Environmental Consultants, Inc. for 12 years. Karen Horne has experience in the areas of regulatory compliance including for water supply, wetland protection, wastewater, and solid waste activities at both the local and state level in order to assist clients with various compliance and development issues.
Karen has a B.A. in Environmental Science from Clark University and M.S. in civil and environmental engineering from Tufts University. Prior to joining GEC, she was employed with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Bureau of Resource Protection (BRP) for ten years. Karen started her career at DEP as an environmental analyst in the Division of Water Supply. When she left DEP, she was the Deputy Director of BRP’s Division of Planning and Program Support. At that time she oversaw the collection and analysis of ecosystem, facility, and public health data to measure the effectiveness of DEP’s water quality protection initiatives and potable water programs.
In addition, Karen served on the Marshfield Planning Board for 16 years and was chair from 2004-2017. She also served on the Marshfield Community Preservation Committee from 2009-2012.
